You’re doing everything right… and your baby still isn’t sleeping

After 17 years working with families, I look beyond routines and wake windows to understand what’s actually driving broken nights, so you can stop guessing and finally make sense of your baby’s sleep.

You keep adjusting the day, hoping the night will finally follow.

There was a point where you genuinely believed that if you just found the right combination, the right timing, the right way of doing things, it would all click into place. And to be fair, you didn’t half try. You’ve moved things around, tweaked, tracked, second guessed, recreated the one good day that gave you hope, only to watch it stop working again a few days later.

Now you’re here, not at the beginning, but somewhere further along where it’s harder to admit that it still isn’t making sense.

I can see that you’re tired, not just physically, but in the way your mind doesn’t switch off because you’re constantly trying to work it out, replaying the day, wondering what you missed, and quietly carrying the weight of feeling like you should have figured this out by now.

        Why this still isn’t improving?

At some point, it stops being about effort, because you have put the effort in. What starts to become obvious is that you’ve been working on the part of sleep that’s easiest to see. Routines, wake windows, settling. The things that can be adjusted, measured, optimised.

And those things matter. But they don’t explain everything.

So you end up in this loop where you keep changing the surface, hoping it will eventually fix something that actually sits underneath it.

And that’s why it feels like you’re getting close, but never quite there.

Because once you’ve been told it’s “normal”, or that your baby is simply low sleep needs, the conversation often stops there… even if that explanation doesn’t actually match what you’re seeing day to day.

“Where would I be without Heidi… still waking every 1hr with my baby! Now I have a baby who sleeps.”

“We had tried everything… and still ended up with constant waking. Heidi saw what we couldn’t.”

        How I got here

I didn’t always work this way. I spent years as a sleep consultant focusing on routines, wake windows, and helping babies learn to settle. And I was good at it. On paper, I understood sleep. Then I had my first baby.

And suddenly I was the one doing everything “right” and still ending up with short naps, broken nights, and a baby who didn’t fit what I had been taught to expect.

What I had been taught explained some babies. It didn’t explain mine. So I started looking differently. At feeding. Digestion. Discomfort. The smaller signals that don’t show up on a routine.

Once I could see those patterns, I couldn’t unsee them. And over the last 9 years, working with babies who are unsettled, refluxy, or not responding to standard advice, that understanding has only deepened.

What I see that others miss
        • Subtle feeding issues.
        • Digestive discomfort.
        • Oral function.
        • Nervous system regulation.

Not obvious. Not surface level. But often the reason sleep isn’t improving.

“Heidi identified my son was dairy intolerant on the first call… something no one else had picked up.”

“As a paediatrician, I still couldn’t figure it out… Heidi was the only one who helped us understand what was actually going on.”

“She has a real gift for getting to the root of sleep issues — often in ways you wouldn’t expect.”

        My approach
Everything I do sits across four pillars:

        Confidence

So you’re not second guessing yourself at 2am.

        Consistency

So your baby knows what to expect.

        Comfort

Because uncomfortable babies don’t sleep well.

        Connection

Because unmet needs often sit underneath sleep struggles.

        This is for you if…
        • You replay the day at night wondering what you missed.
        • Progress never holds.
        • You keep changing things but nothing sticks
.
        • You’ve been told “low sleep needs” but it doesn’t sit right.
        • You understand the advice but it hasn’t helped.
        • You feel stuck despite trying everything.

        What changes when this clicks?

        You stop guessing.

You understand what you’re looking at.

And sleep improves from that place.

          Sleep Coaching FAQs

            What if I’ve tried everything?

Most parents I work with feel like this. We’re not starting from scratch, we’re looking at what’s been missed.

What if my baby is low sleep needs?

Sometimes that’s true. But often it stops the conversation too early.

            Do I need strict routines?

No. We build something that fits your baby.

What if I don’t explain things properly?

You don’t need to. I’ll guide.

            How quickly will things improve?

It depends, but you’ll stop guessing.

You don’t need to be completely sure.
If this feels like you, you’re already closer than you think.

You don’t need to keep trying to figure this out on your own.

            When you’re ready, I’m here.
